Wonder
So, my son loves being home schooled and is amazingly smart. Whatever he does, he wants to get 100 percent. The one thing he doesn't like to do though is read. I assume it's because he has to be quiet and still and he is a kid that has to always be on the move and doing something, anything Imagine a boy who doesn't want to slow down and be still enough to read for a few minutes. Now he tells me he wants to read the last 40 pages of his book so he could see how it ended and watch the movie. (Since then we have watched the movie tons of times.) The book I chose for Reading was Wonder by R. J. Palacio. He absolutely fell in love with the book and with the character of Auggie. I think he can relate to Auggie, not in the sense of a deformed face, but that he is small for his age and kids can be bullies. He gets teased a lot about his height, which probably bothers me more than him. He told me that this was his favorite book and favorite movie of all time. Not sure how I will be able to chose another book that will top this.
